
The Erie tournament boast five of the top ten teams in the world, including number 1, NY Gremlins, fresh off of their ASA Major National Championship last weekend in Ashland Ohio, number 2, Hill United, with Australians Adam Folkard and Nick Shailes, number 3 Jarvis ON, number 5 PA Power with Sr. Argentine pitcher Lucas Mata, and number 8 Midland Explorers, who will host this year’s ISC World Tournament.
La Hoz’s 2 run home run to deep left center field provided the margin of difference for the Erie All Stars.
The teams exchanged gifts before the game, as is customary in international matches. The Erie players gave the Argentine Jrs. T-shirts emblazoned with tonight’s game information, while the the Argentine’s gave the Erie squad leather key fobs with a map of Argentina, with a silhoutte of the country’s signature Tango dancers.
Lets not forget Jim Flanagan came in for the 7th inning in the closer role, getting the save. It was a great night had by all. And thanks to On Deck tavern (the bar in right field here in Erie) for supplying Pizza and wings for the boys after the game.
