Final day in Las Vegas for the SCIFL’s Road Trip VIII.

AA/AA Major Division
In the upper AA/AA Major division, the winner’s bracket final features Ohio Battery against CR Brewers. Ohio nipped the Rhinos in their opener, 6-5, then edged J&B Painting 3-1. CR Brewers had an easier go of it, defeating Santa Cecilia Mexico 5-1, then knocking off Randy’s A’s from British Columbia, 7-1. (Randy’s A’s finished last season ranked #13 in the world, following a good run at the ISC World Tournament knocking off Midland and the Cubs before being eliminated by the # 2 ranked New York Gremlins).
In the loser’s bracket, Randy’s A’s will face Browning, which defeated the Rhinos and Ostrander in a 945am Sunday morning game, while J&B will face the winner of last night’s Rhinos v. Santa Cecilia game, which pits familiar foes.
A Major
In the intermediate A Major division, Maccabi USA and the Colorado Rage will square off in the winner’s bracket final Sunday morning at 945am. Maccabi is a perfect 3-0, with a 7-2 win over the Colorado Knights, 5-0 over Brian’s Blackhawks and a 10-3 trouncing of the K-Club from Washington State. Following a first round bye, the Colorado Rage won both of their games, 3-1 over the So Cal Aces, and 7-4 over the Richmond Stealers from British Columbia.
In the loser’s bracket, K-Club and the Stealers will face the survivors of the rest of the field, each drawing the eye-opening game Sunday at 8am.
A Division
A dominant Press Box team will face the also unbeaten Buzzards Sunday in the winner’s bracket final at 1130am. Press Box has cruised through the field thus far, with a 5-1 win over a solid Balboa team, 8-2 over the Sykos, finishing Saturday by crushing the Brew Crew, 14-1. The Buzzards knocked off the Northwest Naturals from Washington State, edged the Rio Grande Alliance 4-3, and slipped by the Austin Blue Jays from Texas, 6-5.
In the loser’s bracket Sunday, the Brew Crew and Austin Blue Jays will face the survivors from Saturday night. At press time Saturday, Balboa was set to face the Northwest Naturals. Both of these teams lost their openers to the winner’s bracket finalists.
