OKLAHOMA CITY — USA Softball announced today the addition of Garrett Nickel (Clarksville, Tenn.) to the 2018 USA Softball Junior Men’s National Training Team. Nickel replaces William Pahlow (Oshkosh, Wis.) who suffered an injury.
Nickel will now join the USA Softball Junior Men’s National Training Team roster, which was selected following a January selection camp in Clearwater, Fla. The team recently completed their first tournament of the 2018 season at the Las Vegas Road Trip in preparation for the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) Junior Men’s World Championship, which will be held July 7-15 in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, Canada. The team will compete in additional select tournaments/invitational events before the final 17 player roster for the WBSC Junior Men’s World Championship is finalized.
The 2018 USA Softball JMNT is led by Head Coach Ty McKinney (Ashland, Ohio) and Assistant Coaches Tony Aresco (Stoneham, Mass.), Mike Armitage (Normal, Ill.) and Bob Piddock (Castro Valley, Calif.).
