#17-ranked Singapore was the giant-slayer on Day 1 with a huge upset win over #2 ranked Argentina, 8-3, at WBSC U-18 Men’s Softball World Cup 2020 at Palmerston North, New Zealand. Singapore starter Matthew Tan went the distance for the win, surrendering but 3 hits, while striking out 9. Singapore’s offense banged out 10 hits with most everyone in the starting lineup having a hit. Ean Eu had 3 RBI for the winners. The upset win by Singapore was one of the biggest upsets in the history of WBSC youth play.
