Zane Chason converted from a baseball pitcher to a softball pitcher several years ago and has no regrets with his choice. Considering that he’s now earned a spot on the 2014 USA Jr. Men’s National Team pitching staff, it’s hard to argue with his decision. The just turned 17 year old from Alma, Georgia recently competed at both the ISGU and AAU Men’s Tournaments in Florida where he made 2 appearances, including pitching shutout relief to get the save in one game and a complete game effort in which he allowed just 1 run in a win for the NAFA Bar Selects of Wisconsin.
In 2013, the hard throwing, 6’2” 220 pound right-hander’s no-hit performance in the opening game helped start things off the right way for County Materials on their way to an eventual ASA 18U National Championship.
Chason will be back in action this summer when the USA Jr. Men’s Team travels to Whitehorse, Yukon, Canada to compete in the ISF Jr. Men’s World Championship beginning on July 11th continuing through July 20th.
