Billy,

I hear you. How about backing the pitching up to 60½ feet, and start chucking Debeer baseballs? That would be interesting.

Next year, I wouldn't mind the DeBeer, because every time Joe Edwards plunks me in the x, it will feel like a sponge.

Congrats to Billy "The Big Z" on his pitching last night. Billy threw a one hitter in league play. Billy was useing his favorite ball the debeer 212. Then he turns around and pitches again and also won that game. Billy was sure on top of his game last night. I'll get you next time billy, like always. Hey billy did you see my 400 ft bomb last night, oh by the way it was a debeer also. Good job billy!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, Billy, nice job last night. I'm glad I was with you, not agaisnt you.

Eddy, nice hit, too. That was pretty impressive for a DeBeer "mush ball". That was the only time you guys got to see my uniform number, except when I caught your son's mash too. I was playing him to slap, and had to run my x off to catch that mash.

Damian,

Sorry, I mixed you up w/ Eddy from the Corona Rebels. He mashed one on our field last night too, and so did his son.

thanks u guys
it was not the ball
i put that dutch hot sauce on it hahahaha
for u all hitters u can still hit the de beer 212 and score runs
the best part is that if u get hit u will not have to go to the Dr.

Wow, must be nice to play all year 'round. Wish we had that luxury up here.
Did I read this right? You guys are using the yellow "Girls" balls!!
There's currently a big battle north of the border to resist that change.

The worth K-master is definitely the ball to go with. One of the local Fastpitch/Softball stores up here buys basically the same ball from overseas, and throws their own name on it. They can't keep'em in stock.

As a pitcher myself I feel if you don't want to get hit by the ball, keep it down in the Zone, and CHEAT as much as you can Wink
The batters get new advantages every season, whether it is harder balls, or better bats. Where as the pitchers are stuck with the same archaeic (sp?) rules every year.
The pitching rule should be as follows. I think anyways. (watch all the batters complain about this one)
- Pitchers mound back to 48'
- One foot on the rubber, and the Pivot foot must remain on the rubber until the stepping foot has past the rubber.
- Drag, Leap, or re-plant is all ok, just stay in-line with home plate.
- Runner can leave when the ball leaves the hand.

I feel this will give lower calibre pitchers a little more of a fighting chance when on the mound. Also, I don't think it will affect the game a whole lot at the higher levels. The top throwers will still be top throwers, no matter what.

It amazes me every year when I teach pitching clinics, at the kids reactions to the confinements put on them when pitching the ball.
Now, these are kids who haven't played before, or have just watched older siblings. After going through the basic mechanics, we let them give it a whirl, and EVERY one of them has their back foot a fair distance back. When we correct their footing (2 feet on the rubber), they look at us as if we're crazy.

I know it's the "Rule" but, man talk about painting a target on your chest.

Damo,

That blue had no clue what obstruction was. Our runner collided into the shortstop (who didn't have the ball at the time of impact) when he was 10-15 ft. away from 2nd base. If "Obstruction" was to be defined, that play would have been textbook to use as an example.
I have no sympathy for umpires who get paid, and don't know the rules, and then cuss you out for questioning them about something they have no clue about. Amazing, huh?? At least if they don't know the rules, they could ask a player to get it right form them. But that's what we deal with in league play. That "fruitcake" wouldn't last an inning in the alliance.
