Editor’s note<\/strong>: One of the longest running programs in men’s fastball, Page Brake was around when I was a young man, with the likes of big man Neil Chadwick pitching. We faced them in Ken Hackmeister’s famed “Pioneer Days” tournament, the premier tournament this side of the ISC World Tournament in those days. Salt Lake City remains one of the best sources of talent out west, thanks to the work of the the Black and Barnes families. This Page Brake team grew out of a good 23U program in Salt Lake City, and continues to thrive thanks to fastball veterans like (pitcher) Steve Black and the Barnes brothers, a veritable fastball force of their own. With this year’s Page Brake team, it’s father Steve Black managing his boys, and father Gin Barnes with son, Randy. (Randy was a member of Team USA Jr. Men last summer in Whitehorse, Yukon). Keep an eye out for Pioneer Days tournament info. You’ll find this squad front and center at that one.<\/p>\n
