K-Club of Bremerton, WA Win\u2019s 53rd Seattle Invitational over Portland Brewers<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Seattle Invitational (@ Fife, WA) was a huge success in its 53rd year, seeing a higher caliber of teams than in the past few years. The story of this year\u2019s tournament was the dominance of the pitching, most teams had pitchers rated NAFA \u201cAA\u201d which made for a very competitive environment. K-Club of Bremerton, Washington found this out early on Saturday after going 1-2 earning just a #7 seed in the Sunday Single Elimination Bracket (Just edging out the #8 Lacey A\u2019s- Defending NAFA AA Champions). On Sunday K-Club was firing on all cylinders beating: Interbay Door, Shalcam Construction, and the Dukes to earn a spot in the Championship game. In the Championship K-Club overcame a 6-0 deficit in the 4th inning to beat the Portland Brewers in the bottom of the 7th on a walk of base hit by MVP Michael Tyacke (3-4, 4RBI\u2019s).<\/p>\n

The 2013 tournament seems to be laying a great frame work to continue to bring in quality teams for the Seattle Invitational. In 2014 we are looking forward to inviting more upper level and open teams back to Washington in an effort to enhance the quality of fastpitch played in the state. This year\u2019s tournament would not have been possible without the very generous support of the City of Fife (through a tourism grant), Fife-Milton-Edgewood Chamber of Commerce and Tacoma South Sound Sports. <\/p>\n
