In what can only be described as a shocker in the Dominican Republic, the Canadian men\u2019s fastpitch softball team failed to qualify for the 2019 Pan American Games following a sixth-place finish at the qualifying tournament, which finished up Sunday in Santo Domingo.<\/p>\n

In the final game of the 2017 Pan American Championship, Cuba scored three runs in the second inning, and hung on for a 3-2 win over Canada.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Canada is the reigning Pan Am Games champions, having won gold in 2015. The Canadians also won the world championship two years ago.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n

In July, Canada won the bronze medal at the world championship in Whitehorse, Yukon.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n
