Mitchell Tweedie is preparing to go to Australia for the International Softball Academy.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Tweedie,15, is a Southland age group hockey representative, but had to decide whether to represent his province at the national championships next week, or fly to Sydney to play softball as part of the International Softball Academy (ISA).<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

According to his mother Marene Tweedie, the James Hargest College student who has also represented Southland at touch and athletics, had to make a difficult choice.<\/p>\n

“Hockey has always been his passion, unfortunately this year the tournament for Southland hockey and going to Australia were in the same week, so he had to make the tough decision between hockey and softball,\u00a0and decided to go with softball at the moment and see where he goes with that,” she said.<\/p>\n
