If you like stats (like me), you’ll like this post. Cap tip to whoever is doing the stats for the St. John’s Senior Men’s Fastball league in Newfoundland. (Who gets the credit?) With playoffs coming up, these are the final regular season stats. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Click to the Official website for all of the stats. <\/a> Some of them excerpted below. Looks like Jordan Pomeroy<\/strong> had himself quite the season for Kelly’s Pub Molson Bulldogs (KPMB). And of course, you’ll find Colin Walsh<\/strong> and Jason Hill<\/strong> among the leaders in the hitting categories. Did I mention that Colin Walsh<\/strong> led the league in wins as a pitcher too?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If the full set of regular season stats is not enough for you, try the “Lifetime Stats” page.<\/a> This league has been around since 1957 (no typo, since 1957<\/strong>). As you can imagine, some of the veterans of the league have amassed some astounding numbers. Ward Gosse<\/strong> has 102 home runs, far and away more than anyone else. Blair Langmead<\/strong> is the all time hit leader with 512. Most lifetime wins? Ward Gosse<\/strong>, with 182, against 103 losses, for a .639 winning percentage. That would land him atop any of the divisions in Major League Baseball as of today’s standings. The guy is a legend. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The league’s playoffs get underway tonight, Tuesday, September 7, 2021, so everyone gets a clean slate. (See the Tweet below for the schedule) And of course, the playoff stats will appears on the league’s website, as well as lifetime playoff stats. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
