Both teams were missing most of their pitching staffs in this final weekend for these two teams in Norwest League play. With tournaments in Canada and the Hispanic tourney in Texas, both squads had limited rosters.

Portland, who started the season off 0-4 in league play, stormed back the last three weekends, all on the road, sweeping Prince George in BC, winning 3 out of 5 in Vancouver last weekend and sweeping the host Olympia team this weekend to finish 10-6 in league play. According to late reports, Portland finishes 2nd in league play for the season.

Portland finished second to Team Rainey in the California Classic and in 3rd place in their own Rose Cup tournament. In addition, the team is 15-0 in Portland City league play. Next up for Portland is the Vancouver Challenge in British Columbia begining July 31st.

Following the Vancouver Challenge, Portland has accepted an invitation to play in the ISC World tournament in Fargo, North Dakota, August 13th - 21st.

The DeMarini squad is likely to add two or three "area" players to their squad for ISC's.
