The 60th Annual ISC World Tournament gets underway in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada, pitting the 32 best teams in the world. Today’s games get underway at 4pm EST (1pm for those of us on the west coast). <\/p>\n

Today’s Schedule of Games, Friday, August 10<\/strong><\/p>\n

That Albaugh<\/strong> game at 6pm (3pm here in California) involves So Cal pitcher, Sonny Perkins. His team hails from Elkhart, IA.

The Thomson Area Merchants, IL<\/strong>, who get the honors of playing in the opener, competed in the ISC II division last year, moving up in class, and finishing strong in their 2007 season at the open level.<\/p>\n

The Orillia Riversharks<\/strong>will be the highest ranked team playing on Day 1. The ‘Sharks held the # 1 ranking for a good part of the year, finishing up at # 3 in the world. They finished 3rd in the recent ASA Major Nationals, behind # 2 Patsy’s and # 6 The Farm. <\/p>\n

Al Doran of Al’s Fastball<\/strong><\/a> fame will be on hand from the first pitch to the last, and keeping all of us posted on the games throughout the tournament. I heard from him yesterday, as he was setting up shop in his “ergo” chair that will be home for the next 9 days.
