Kevin grew up playing fastpitch in the city leagues with his dad Paul Castillo, including El Segundo and Artesia as a member of the Rounders (and sometimes playing against the Rounders).  He is a standout player on the baseball team at Long Beach Poly, the same high school that the great <a href=\"http:\/\/goaztecs.collegesports.com\/sports\/m-basebl\/mtt\/gwynn_tony00.html\">Tony Gwynn<\/a> of the San Diego Padres attended.
