Host team Killeen still battling in men’s fast pitch state tournament <\/strong><\/p>\n

As of press time, Killeen was still alive in the Texas Amateur Softball Association 2008 Men’s Fast Pitch State Championship.<\/p>\n

Killeen was 3-1 on Saturday in the double-elimination tournament before it took on the loser of the Geo-Per\/San Antonio Titans game. The game was scheduled for 10:30 p.m.<\/p>\n

In its first game of the day, Killeen beat the Austin Jokers in a tight 4-3 game, and then fell to the Manor Dirtbags in a 2-1 heartbreaker. After moving over to the loser’s bracket, the host team won two straight \u00e2\u20ac\u201c 13-1 over the Houston Dynamo and 16-0 over the Austin Indians.<\/p>\n

Ryan Norman and Cody Davis each had two homers for Killeen on the day while Mike Cruz chipped in with one roundtripper. Mark Teapole pitched several innings, including a four-inning, one-run complete game against the Dynamo.<\/p>\n

The championship game will be held today at 1 p.m. at the Killeen Athletic Center on Field No. 4.<\/p>\n
