STANDINGS TIGHTEN<\/p>\n

Ward Gosse\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s fine pitching performance last night, leading Charlottetown Fawcetts to a well-deserved 4-2 win over the previously undefeated host St. Thomas Evergreen Centennials, has significantly tightened the standings. The key advantage heading into the weekend\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s elimination round is earning \u00e2\u20ac\u0153double life\u00e2\u20ac\u009d. With only six round-robin games to play, six of the teams are still in contention for the coveted additional life-line.<\/p>\n

Brookfield Elks (3-2) currently hold the 4th double life, play twice today and maintain their own destiny. Vancouver and Charlottetown (both 2-3) tangle in the 4 pm game that will probably determine the final double life position. First place overall will be on the line tonight at 8 pm when St. Thomas (5-1) meets Kitchener Hallman Rivershark Twins (4-1). <\/p>\n
