Editor’s note: This tournament features a rematch of Broken Bow and the Vancouver Grey Sox, two teams that met just a month ago in Portland at the Rose Cup Tournament where the Grey Sox upset the Bow on a 3-run HR by Kevin Schellenberg. <\/a>. The two teams meet in pool play at 1pm PST Saturday.<\/em><\/p>\n

Vancouver, BC<\/p>\n

The Draw for the 4th annual Vancouver Challenge Fastpitch Tournament is set. There are two divisions of three teams. The teams will play round robin qualifying games within their divisions. The top two finishers in each division will have two lives in the playoffs while the 3rd place finishers will have one life.<\/p>\n

The tournament features the two time defending ISC Champions, Broken Bow Spirit, as well as the Calgary Smokers who are hot off a 2nd place finish in Orillia on the weekend. The 2004 Canadian Champions, Saskatoon Aspen Interiors Black Sox, the Black Bears from Prince George, BC, Van City of New Westminster, BC, and the host Grey Sox round out the field in this prestigious event. The weather has been perfect the last two weeks in the scenic city of Vancouver – sunny and 75 degrees F – and we are anticipating more sunshine and some good crowds for the Vancouver Challenge.<\/p>\n
