The game is a rematch of an earlier season matchup when the Bar of Appleton knocked off then-higher-ranked Decatur in the championship game of the Decatur Shootout tournament. <\/p>\n

The win marked the start of the rise of The Bar of Appleton in the rankings, from their preseason ranking of # 12, up to #10, then # 9 and a final ranking of #7. Decatur started the year ranked # 9, dropping one slot to #10 by the final rankings. <\/p>\n

The Bar narrowly escaped with a first round win, topping #33 ranked Mickey’s Sled of Michigan (with Michigan veteran Doug Gillis), 2-1 in 11 innings, while Decatur topped a tough # 23 Kitchener-Waterloo (KW) Cubs in their first round game.<\/p>\n
