{"id":587,"date":"2005-09-28T16:27:54","date_gmt":"2005-09-29T00:27:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/fastpitchwest.com\/morningbrief\/?p=587"},"modified":"2005-09-29T08:08:20","modified_gmt":"2005-09-29T16:08:20","slug":"so-cal-players-among-usa-team-selections","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.fastpitchwest.com\/morningbrief\/?p=587","title":{"rendered":"So Cal Players Among 2006 USA Team Selections"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Sonny Perkins Arrives on National Stage as First Time  Selection<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Following last weekend&#8217;s training camp at Chula Vista, CA, head coach Pete Turner announced the 2006 USA Softball teams, with a number of So Cal players among them, including <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.fastpitchwest.com\/photos\/2005\/Red_Rock\/RedRock_2005_111.jpg\">Travis Price<\/a><\/strong> (So Cal Bombers), , and <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.fastpitchwest.com\/photos\/2005\/Red_Rock\/RedRock_2005_013.jpg\">Sonny Perkins<\/a><\/strong> (Team Rainey and Team Iowa).    <\/p>\n<p>Pitcher <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.fastpitchwest.com\/photos\/2005\/bow\/BestWest_2005_036.JPG\">Tony Peeples<\/a><\/strong> (So Cal Bombers) and catcher <strong>Todd Garcia<\/strong> (So Cal Bombers) were chosen as a members of the National Training Team.  <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.fastpitchwest.com\/photos\/2005\/Stockton\/Stockton_2005_475.JPG\"><img src=\"http:\/\/www.fastpitchwest.com\/images_photos\/G_150.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Pitcher\/DH <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.fastpitchwest.com\/photos\/2005\/Stockton\/Stockton_2005_475.JPG\">Gerald Pyle<\/a><\/strong>, the big man on the El Segundo Rounders, was chosen as an alternate, and member of the National Training Team.  <\/p>\n<p>Fellow Californian, <strong>Craig Daniels<\/strong>, the explosive leadoff hitter for A-1 Tank of Northern California was also named as an alternate and member of the National Training Team.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.fastpitchwest.com\/photos\/2005\/Red_Rock\/RedRock_2005_512.jpg\">Cody Thomson<\/a><\/strong>, from Utah was selected as a member of the National Team, as was longtime veteran USA team member, pitcher <strong>Michael White<\/strong>, who resides in Oregon, rounding  out the list of players from west of the Rockies.<\/p>\n<p>Our heartiest congratulations to these players, and to all those selected to represent the USA.<\/p>\n<p><em>(Cap tip for the info to Angel &#8220;Scoop&#8221; Saucedo)<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sonny Perkins Arrives on National Stage as First Time Selection Following last weekend&#8217;s training camp at Chula Vista, CA, head coach Pete Turner announced the 2006 USA Softball teams, with a number of So Cal players among them, including Travis Price (So Cal Bombers), , and Sonny Perkins (Team Rainey and Team Iowa).
