The So Cal Bombers won the Mexicali tournament this past weekend, with a perfect 5-0 record, including a 5-0 shutout win over former Bomber Panfilo Valdez’s team in the Championship game. Jason Porto hit a 2-run homer in the first inning of the title game, and Arturo Solano socked a 2-run homer in the 6th to put the game away. <\/p>\n
Bomber’s pitcher Sean Whitten<\/strong> had 17 K’s in the championship and was Most Valuable Pitcher<\/strong> for the tourney. Whitten had two of the Bombers wins, giving up 0 runs and striking out 34 in his two starts. <\/p>\n Raymundo Parra<\/strong> was selected the tournament’s Most Valuable Player<\/strong>, hitting 3 homeruns on the weekend. <\/p>\n Bomber pitcher Travis Price was 2-0, only allowing 2 earned runs in 13 innings of work.<\/p>\n The Bombers’ Championship roster included the following players:<\/p>\n Dan Winnick \u00e2\u20ac\u201c Walnut Creek, Calif. Raymar finished 1-2, dropping games to Panfilo Valdez’s team, and a team with a pitcher on Mexico’s National team. Raymar defeated Los Grillos (“The Crickets”, en Ingles).
