Team Minnesota lost 3-2 to Team USA in the Championship Game.    A brief summary of the games is as follows.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>  Pool Play-Pool G<br \/>\n<strong>  Team Minnesota 4 Orlando Kings 0<\/strong><br \/>\n  Kings  000 000 0-0 3 1 4<br \/>\n  TM     101 011 x-4 6 1 4<br \/>\n  Lang, Muizelaar (6) and Twordik<br \/>\n  Home Runs-None<\/p>\n<p>Team Minnesota scattered 6 hits in their opener.  Jeff Ellsworth (two), Gregg Cascaes and Eric Lewis drove in runs. Rick Lang earned the win with 9 strikeouts in 5 innings of work.  Gerald Muizelaar worked two innings of relief,<\/p>\n<p><strong>  Team Minnesota 4 Team Colombia 0, 6 innings-time limit<\/strong><br \/>\n  Colombia  000 000-0 3 0 6<br \/>\n  TM            001 012-4 8 0 8<br \/>\n  Muizelaar and Twordik<br \/>\n  HR-Ellsworth (1, 2)<\/p>\n<p>Jeff Ellsworth led the charge with two home runs.  Two more runs were added in the sixth inning on Lucas Goring\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s 2 RBI double.  Gerald Muizelaar earned the win, striking out 9.<\/p>\n<p><strong>  Team Minnesota 10 Oklahoma Fastpitch 2, 6 innings<\/strong><br \/>\n  TM    040 303-10 11 1 6<br \/>\n  Okla  000 002-2     3 3 4<br \/>\n  Kammueller and Twordik<br \/>\n  HR-Foore (1)<\/p>\n<p>Team Minnesota scattered 11 hits in their final pool play game.  Lucas Goring was 1-4 with 2 RBI, Gregg Cascaes 2-3, Scott Deutsch 2-4 with 2 RBI, Roman Foore 1-3 with a Home Run, Charlie Rambo 2-4 with RBI.  Kevin Kammueller earned the win as he struck out 10. <\/p>\n<p>Team Minnesota finished 3-0 in pool play and earned the number three seed in bracket play.<\/p>\n<p>  Bracket Play<br \/>\n<strong>  Team Minnesota 9 Radio 560 (Mexico) 0, 5 innings<\/strong><br \/>\n  Radio 560  000 00-0 2 1 5<br \/>\n  TM            205 2x-9 7 0 3<br \/>\n  Lang, Kammueller and Twordik<br \/>\n  HR-L. Goring (1), Ellsworth (3), Foore (2)<\/p>\n<p>Lucas Goring, Jeff Ellsworth and Roman Foore each hit home runs in the victory.<br \/>\nRick Lang earned the win, striking out seven.  Kevin Kammueller pitched one inning of relief, striking out three.<\/p>\n<p><strong>  Team Minnesota 12 FedLock (Washington, DC) 2, 5 innings<\/strong><br \/>\n* broadcast at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ballparkradio.com\">Ballparkradio.com<\/a><br \/>\n  TM          205 04-12 15 1 8<br \/>\n  FedLock  011 01-2     5 0 5<\/p>\n<p>  Muizelaar and Twordik<br \/>\n  HR-Ellsworth (4), Foore (3), Rambo (1)<\/p>\n<p>Jeff Ellsworth two-run homer in the first inning set the pace in this quarterfinal game.<br \/>\nRoman Foore hit a three-run homer in the third inning.  Jeff Ellsworth finished 2-3 with 4 RBI.   Gerald Muizelaar posted another win, recording 6 strikeouts.<\/p>\n<p>Semi-Final:<br \/>\n<strong>  Team Minnesota 6 Heflin Builders (NY) 4<\/strong><br \/>\n  Heflin  121 000 0-4 9 0 8<br \/>\n  TM      212 100 x-6 6 1 2<br \/>\n  Muizelaar and Twordik<br \/>\n  HR-L. Goring (2), Wandler (1)<\/p>\n<p>Lucas Goring led off the TM half of the first with home run.  Two batters later, Jeff Ellsworth tripled then scored on a wild pitch. Heflin took the lead back in the top of the second.  The game was brought back to even when Lucas Goring singled to score Jason Wandler.  The back-and-forth battle continued as Heflin posted a run in the top of the third. Jeff Ellsworth led of the TM third with a walk.  Then with two outs, Jason Wandler\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s home run put TM up to stay.  An insurance run was added the next inning when Charlie Rambo led off with a triple, then scored on Lucas Goring\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s fielder\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s choice.  Gerald Muizelaar earned his third win on the weekend as he struck out 8.<\/p>\n<p><strong>  Championship Game<\/strong><br \/>\n* broadcast at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ballparkradio.com\">Ballparkradio.com<\/a><\/p>\n<p>  Team USA 3 Team Minnesota 2<br \/>\n  TM    100 001 0-2 7 1 2<br \/>\n  USA  000 110 1-3 6 1 5<br \/>\n  Muizelaar, Lang (5) and Twordik<br \/>\n  Price and DeGroat<br \/>\n  HR-Rodriguez, USA<\/p>\n<p>Team Minnesota jumped out on top in the first inning when Gregg Cascaes singled with one out.  Cascaes then scored on Scott Deutsch\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s single that was mishandled in the outfield.  Team USA brought the score even with a homer in the fourth then took the lead the next inning after a leadoff double and TM error that scores a runner.  Lucas Goring led off the sixth inning with a double.  Two batters later, he scored on Scott Deutsch\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s sacrifice fly to right field to tie the game.   Team USA won the championship when Blake Miller scored on a Adam Lalonde single that was just out of the reach of Team Minnesota\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s infield. <\/p>\n<p>Everyone associated with Team Minnesota would like to thank Ken Hackmeister, Alex Linares and everyone associated with the 2006 AAU International Tournament the Walt Disney\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Wide World of Sports Complex.
