Unofficial  coverage

for the So Cal ASA Championship Tournament

Leagues - Southern California  ASA Championship

July 12-13, 2003 - Santa Fe Springs

The So Cal ASA Championship will be played on July 12-13, 2003 at Little Lake Park at Santa Fe Springs.  The tournament is a modified double elimination bracket, with the top two teams earning berths to the ASA "C" National Tournament at College Station, Texas.   The tournament was formerly referred to as the State Championship tournament, but due to an ASA rule change that eliminated the differences between a State and Metro, so it is not called the Southern California ASA Championship.

Last year's ASA State tournament was held at Big Bear Lake, California, and was won by the El Segundo Rounders, who advanced to the ASA "C" Nationals in Sacramento, CA.   For a recap and some photos from last year's tournament, click the menu buttons at the left.  The Rounders will be back to try to defend their title, but it certainly won't come easy, given the tough field of teams.

This year's tournament has twelve teams entered:

Raymar So Cal Rebels
Amigos Palm Springs Express
L.A. Kanakas El Segundo Rounders
L.A. Heat San Diego Fastpitch
Panteras Damn Yankees
Gamecocks Genesis
