Rose Cup Team Profile: So Cal Bombers,
Yucaipa, CANo Shortage of Pitching as
Bombers Add Mark Higgins to Four Others
Ralph
Trejo has a knack for adding a player or two to bolster his teams when
hitting the road for a big tournament like Rose Cup. With the
Bucks sidelined, he landed right hander Mark Higgins from their staff.
Add that to an already strong staff, and you have to like the Bombers'
chances at the Rose Cup.
The
pitching staff is led by veteran Hurler Lonnie Brooks, and includes Dave
Blackburn, Panfilo Valdez and Mark Higgins, who will be a pick-up for The
Rose Cup. Leading the hitters are Tony Beeson (pictured at right), Raimundo Parra, and Sean
Barker, who also can pitch.
Sponsored
by Ralph Trejo Sr., the Yucaipa Bombers play in the Southern California
ASA A/B Travel League, as well as competing at Red Rocks (4-2 Consolation
Champions), The California International Classic (Tied 5th), the Best of
The West, and The Rose Cup in Portland.
The
Bombers had an impressive tournament in Las Vegas over the Memorial Day
weekend, with their only two losses coming at the hand of eventual
champion, and ISC #8 ranked Circle Tap. Ralph's Trejo's
Bombers notched 5 runs in the first inning of their Saturday game with
Circle Tap, before being overtaken by the strong hitting CT club.
As you can
see from the team photo (click menu button on left), the Bombers are among
the best dressed teams around. (That's sponsor Ralph Trejo at the
