[4/7/04] - A note from So Cal ASA Commish Robert Hernandez:

"We have made arrangements to reserve rooms with the Super 8 Motel in Palm Springs for the weekend of April 24 - 25. The Shilo Inn was already booked so we had to move elsewhere. Super 8 was the best rate with the number of rooms we needed. $80.88 per room per night. This includes Continental Breakfast. They have nice pool as well. It is a jam packed weekend for Palm Springs and hotels were almost sold out for group business. FYI: There are three religious conventions in Palm Springs that weekend, along with a Golf Tournament, Baseball, Softball, and several small wedding parties.

The town should be full so please make your reservations early. The rooms will be held until April 16, after which they will be released. Please do not wait until the week of the tournament to call.

The So Cal ASA arranged a special rate for rooms March 6-7, 2004, $69 for a room that would otherwise have been $169.00. (Editor's note: The rooms were large, clean, and breakfast was free. Nice place, great deal.

The address is 4365 Mesquite Avenue. If taking I-10, you would take the Gene Autry Trail exit south to Mesquite Avenue, then turn right. The park is on the left side of Mesquite.

Hours of Operation: Cars depart at least every half hour from 10 a.m., Monday-Friday; 8 a.m. weekends and holiday periods. Last car up is 8 p.m. with the last car down at 9:45 p.m.
