The Richmond Linus Software Stealers from the Lower Mainland Premier Fastball League (British Columbia) have won the Western Canadian Senior " B " Open Fastball Championships held in Portage la Prairie Manitoba August 14 to 17.  The Stealers defeated the defending Champions the Regina Serbian Angels in the final game by a score of 2 to 1. The Stealers and the Angels finished the round robin portion of the tournament with 5 wins and 1 loss records. The two teams met in the semi finals, and the Stealers won by a score of 8 to 0 giving them a double life in the finals. The Regina team then knocked out Edmonton Black Sox 4 to 3, to put them in the finals having to beat the Stealers twice to win the Championship. It was the same scenario as last year when they did the identical thing to the New Westminster Brewers having to win twice to win the title. (the Stealers have five of last years Brewers on it). So it was a sweet victory for this years Stealers. The Stealers in the round robin defeated Portage Phillies (host team)  7 to 0,defeated last years Champs Regina Serbian Angels 9 to 7, then lost their only game of the weekend to Delisle (Saskatchewan) 7 to 4,  defeated the Triple " B's " (Manitoba) 8 to 3, defeated the Edmonton Black Sox 11 to 3, and finally defeated the Calgary Cubs 3 to 0.
