Portland De Marini Merchants Prepares for 2004

[3/3/04-PORTLAND]- The
Portland team welcomes “big” Mark Bennett (P) and Larry Ybarra (1B) to
the squad for the 2004 season. Both Mark and Larry are long time
All-Star performers with the SoCal Buck team that recently disbanded.
Also, Kevin Rassmussen (C) & Dean Waltier (3B) will play “full-time”
with Portland this season. Other key returnees include: Kevin Careless
(P), Roberto Bahler (P), Kevin MacEachern (1B/OF), Rob Gerhke (DH/C),
Greg Walker (2B), Brian Ree (SS), Jim Perkins (Inf.), Rob Broburg
(OF), Sean McGovern (OF), Tony Dinehart (OF), Brett Breece (2B), & Terry Smith (Coach) &
Eddie Wilson (Assistant Coach). Tom Ree, Roger Dinehart, Rich Breece &
JR Williamson will assist the team in various capacities including the
Rose Cup. City League schedule available soon. It promises to be a

The Portland Merchants host the popular "DeMarini
Rose Cup Tournament". This year's tournament will be held on June
26-27, 2004. For more details, click logo at left.

[12/24/03-PORTLAND] -Coming off of
its "Sweet 16" finish in its first
ever ISC World Tournament in 2003, the
Portland DeMarini squad is looking forward to the 2004 season. Hard
hitting 3rd Basemen, Dean Waltier, from Seattle, Washington, has committed
to the team after a one year stint in California. Kevin Rasumussen, a
valuable catcher for us during ISC's last year, will return for the full
season. A few other key returnees include: Rob Gerhke (1st Team ISC
selection), Rob Broberg, Kevin MacEachern, Sean McGovern & Brian Ree.
Our pitching staff and full roster will be
announced very soon. We are enthused with our talks thus far.
The Portland DeMarini Rose Cup is scheduled
for June 26-27, 2004 at Delta Park. Much more on the tournament right
after the first of the year. We have had a lot of inquiries concerning
the 2004 event. It sounds like many of last years participants and a few
new teams are ready to commit. Thanks for your e-mails and kind words
about the tournament. Again, much more in the near future....
We are very proud to have DeMarini as a
sponsor again next year. The DeMarini 2004 FF-2 and DeMarini "Vexxum"
will be the official team bats.
