Manager Manny Echeveste

Santana Concrete has a long history in Southern California fastpitch.  Known as the Riverside Merchants until 1999, the team is headed up by patriarch Manny Echeveste, who can hit with the best of them.  Manny's son's make the team a family affair, with David Echeveste and the younger Eddie Echeveste.  Echeveste cousin Bryan Villareal, one of the Alliance's top outfielders will be back in centerfield and will provide the spark at the top of the lineup, as will veteran Frank "Paco" Valverde who plays like Both have national tournament experience, as do a number of the players on the squad. Long-time Santana outfielder Scott Colyer will be back, as will the always talkative Robbie Staples and versatile Scott Stone.  Dave Meltz is a long time member of the team and always among the leaders in wins and innings pitched.  Dave is called by some the "craftiest lefty" in the game.  This year, Dominick Tobin joins Meltz and Alex Bazurto to round out the pitching staff.   Santana Concrete's high point last season was winning the So Cal ASA qualifying tournament over the memorial day weekend, and with it, a berth to the National tournament in College Station Texas.
