TOURNAMENT RULES & INFORMATION

1. Each manager is responsible for informing his players of the tournament rules. The tournament will be played under 2004 ASA rules except the ISC Pitching Rule, ISC Re-entry rule (only starting players may re-enter), ISC Catcher Speed-Up rule and a Designated Runner rule will be in effect.
2. All tournament games will be played with an 7 run – 5th inning mercy rule. Tie breaker rule will be implemented in the top of the 8th inning.
3. Rosters must be submitted prior to first game and they will be frozen for the tournament. Tournament Director may make a “hardship” exception.
4. Official tournament ball, Worth F120WH (K-Master) will be used in all games.
5. Unsportsmanlike conduct: player ejected for balance of the game. Tournament Director has authority to eject for balance of tournament.
6. Protests will be allowed only on rule interpretations. Protests will be ruled upon before play continues.
7. Coin flips, submitting line up’s and getting game balls will be handled ˝ hour before game time in the tournament room. If a team is involved in a doubleheader situation, they are asked to send a representative to the coin flip. A 5 minute grace period will be given then the one team who shows up on time will be given choice of home or visitor.
8. The tournament is being played at the Canyons Complex on Snow Canyon Parkway. Turn left off Bluff St. onto Snow Canyon Parkway. Go approximately 2 ˝ miles to the complex. Bluff St. is on the extreme west end of St. George Blvd. From St. George Blvd, turn right onto Bluff, then left onto Snow Canyon Parkway. Phone number at ball park is 435-634-5980. 9. Following round robin play, teams will be seeded 1 – 4 within each pool. Seeding will be based as follows:

A. Round robin record
B. Two team tie: common game winner
C. Three team tie:

1. If one of the tied teams defeated the other tied teams in round robin, that team advances. With two teams remaining tied, use 9B.
2. Fewest runs allowed in all round robin games.
3. Most runs scored in round robin games.
4. Coin flip.

10. The top two teams from each pool will enter the 8-team Championship single elimination bracket. The lower two teams from each pool will enter the 8-team Consolation single elimination bracket.
11. The Designated Runner (DR) rule is:

A. The DR must be listed as the last player on the starting line up. Use DR in the position column. A DR cannot be added after lineups have been turned in.
B. The DR may run once per inning for any player.
C. Termination of the DR position will occur when the DR takes a batting or fielding position.
D. A substitute DR may be made provided it is with a player who has not entered the game in any capacity.
E. The re-entry rule does not apply to the DR.
F. For all intents and purposes, the DR is considered as never having been in the game.

12. Tournament Director and Tournament Committee reserve the right to alter these rules and tournament format if conditions warrant.
