DEMARINI CLASSIC
Munson Lifts JRW & Associates in Tourney
Opener
PORTLAND, ORE – Bryan McKitirck and Dave Drotzman combined a
two-hitter and got all the support they needed from James Munson as
JRW & Associates of Yakima, WA won its first game Saturday at the
DeMarini Classic, 2-0 over Interbay Door of Seattle.
Munson drove in both runs with a fourth-inning single and a
sixth-inning solo home run.
JRW lost its next game 4-3 in 10 innings to the Boise Clippers despite
3-for-4 hitting from Bob Harris and a 10-strikeout pitching
performance by Drotzman.
In its last game Saturday, JRW fell to Cascade Courier 9-8.
Trailing 5-3 headed into the final inning, JRW scored five runs
including a two-run triple from Jason Grow.
Cascade Courier came back to score four runs in the bottom of the
seventh to win.

DEMARINI CLASSIC (Continued)
JRW & Associates Falls Short in Portland
PORTLAND, ORE – JRW & Associates lost in the championship game of the
DeMarini Classic 7-4 to the Boise Clippers on Sunday.
Tom Magers went 2-for-4 with an RBI, while Bob Harris went 1-for-4
with an RBI.
In the first games Sunday, JRW beat the Nighthawks of Seattle 6-5.
Steve Drissel and Jason Scheibner both had two RBI for JRW while
Harris went 2-for-4 with an RBI.
In the second game, JRW beat the Boise Brewers 3-2.
Magers was 2-for-3 with an RBI, while Harris and Troy Grow each had an
RBI.
Dave Drotzman pitched a complete game and had nine strike-outs and one
base on balls.
Drotzman, Harris and Jason Grow were named to the all-tournament-team |
