Jakub Osicka of the Czech Republic was the top pitcher at the WBSC U-18 Men’s Softball World Cup 2020 in Palmerston North, New Zealand last week, leading in most pitching categories, including most wins (5), best ERA for pitchers with more than 10 innning pitched (1.13), most strikeouts (84) — 20 more than the next in line, most innings pitched (43.1) and more. Osicka dominated hitters all week at the U-18 Men’s Softball World Cup, and deservedly made the final out as the Czech Republic claimed a historic bronze medal. Jakub was selected to the WBSC All-World team. Jakub started in the Czech Republic with Locos Breclav, the same team where Michael Holobrádek (top pitcher for the Czech Republic Men’s National team) started playing. How long before we see the two of them on the same pitching staff? Back in New Zealand next February for the WBSC Men’s World Cup?
