It saddens me to report that C.J. Sales, Jr. passed away this morning from Covid.
C.J. was a well-known and well-liked player in Southern California, competing in the Southern California Independent Fastpitch League. (SCIFL), and a number of NAFA World Series events, including the 2012 NAFA World Series in Topeka, Kansas, with Balboa Fastpitch in which he was a teammate of mine, as well as his brother Brian. C.J. learned fastpitch from, and played alongside his grandfather, “Papa Joe” Salcido, and later, his brothers.
We will post information on services for C.J. when arrangements are available and a mailing address for condolences. We invite all of you to post your comments below, and/or on Fastpitch West’s facebook page where this post will also appear. If you wish to send a private note to his family, you may send to jim@fastpitchwest.com and I will forward to them.

Condolences to the family and friends of C.J.
What a terrific ballplayer and an even better individual.

“Singles, doubles, triples RBI’S lets go kick some ### #ss!!!!!” At the top of his lungs. -8 year old CJ’s pregame pep talk in the huddle for MBC/Team Rainey.
If I recall correctly Jim you served up his first Fastpitch hit when he was about 14?
