Editor’s Note:
We pass along a note from our friend Brian Ballie, who many fastballers know as the director of the Monkton World Fastball Invitational, which he and his staff built into one of the premier tournaments in the game. We were sorry to see the Monkton tournament go by the wayside, but glad to see Brian land in New York, and know that the Peligro Cup is in good hands.
[New York, New York]
With every door that closes, another door opens…
Those exact thoughts brought me to writing this message today as a new and proud member of the Peligro Sports Group of New York City: the folks that bring to you the annual Peligro Cup major mens softball tournament.
And having said that, I would like to announce and invite the world to the 2011 edition being held at Randall’s Island Park, NYC. July 1 – 3.
From concept to reality, virtually everyone knows the story of Monkton, and its rise to prominence. Mr Jose Mateo of the Peligro group has the same vision and desire.
Having been contacted by a good friend, and thus by Mr Mateo and Mr Wilfredo Pena, I am proud to have accepted the challenge to take the Peligro Cup to the next level, and ultimately status as best tournament in the world.
For those of you who wish to watch the best players and teams the game has to offer: from countries such as The Dominican Republic, Venezuela, Canada, New Zealand, Australia and others, in THE best city in the world, be sure to mark your calendar for this tournament!!
