Grey Sox Win Qualifier with 6-0 Win over Portland

Teams could meet again in Portland Rose Cup Tournament this weekend

The Vancouver Grey Sox defeated Portland DeMarini Merchants 6-0 in the final
to win the ISC Area Qualifier Tournament in Vancouver, on Sunday, June 22.
Nick Underhill picked up the win over Kevin Careless, who will be with the
Grey Sox for the Canadian Nationals in August.

The Grey Sox defeated Squamish 14-2 to open the Qualifier, then bested
Victoria Traveller's Inn 7-4 in a match-up of Underhill and Collin McKenzie.
We lost our last elimination round game 5-4 in extra innings to Portland, as
Careless picked up the win over Underhill. Norwest League Commissioner Craig
Donaldson will soon be posting all the results from the Qualifier and the
ISC 2 Qualifier also held in Vancouver over the weekend.

The Grey Sox overall record is now 23 and 4. Our next action is this coming
weekend in the Portland Rose Cup Tournament. The draw released today has the
Grey Sox playing Saturday, June 28 at 9:00 a.m. v Larry Miller of Salt Lake,
then at 11:00 a.m. v. the Sundevils of Burbank California, and closing out
the qualifying round with a 3:00 p.m. tilt against defending ISC Champions
Frontier Casino Players of St. Joseph, Missouri. All teams make the
playoffs.
