\nIntermediate club to travel to Quad Cities, Iowa<\/strong>

In the long, storied history of the Mitchell Mets intermediate men’s fastball team, one of the few things the club hasn’t done over their three decades of ball has played in the International Softball Congress (ISC) world tournament \u2013 the best of the best.<\/p>\n

Well, starting this weekend, they can cross that off their list, too.<\/p>\n

The Mets are one of 46 teams participating in the ISC world tournament in Quad Cities, Iowa in the heart of the American Midwest. One of 16 Canadian teams to earn the right to play, the Mets qualified for the world stage by winning the qualification tournament they hosted last September.<\/p>\n

While the heart of that qualifying team is the same, there will be changes to the roster for the seven-day tournament. Even with the changes, the Mets are going to play ball with a care free, aw shucks attitude and let the chips fall where they may.<\/p>\n

The club opens the entire tournament, drawing a Quad Cities team this Saturday night at 7 p.m., one of only two games on opening night. The winner advances to play Ashland, Ohio Sunday afternoon at 4 p.m., and a possible match-up against the world’s number-one ranked team from Jarvis, the Travellers, on Monday afternoon.
