The tournament has 13 teams participating, which is a record number of entries. Playing in the seven-day fast pitch tournament are China, Chinese Taipei, DPR Korea, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Iraq, Japan, Pakistan, Philippines, Republic of Korea, Singapore, and Thailand.<\/p>\n<p>International Softball Federation Secretary General Ms. Low Beng Choo is attending in her role as the president of the Softball Confederation of Asia. Among others, the opening ceremony was officiated by the Premier of the Executive Yuan, Den-yih WU and the Minister of Sports Affair Council Ms. Hsia-ling TAI.
