(Ottawa, ON) Softball Canada is pleased to announce the list of athletes who have been named to the 2014 Junior Men\u2019s National Team Selection Camp Roster. These athletes will attend a Selection Camp from May 22-25, 2014 in Brampton, ON, with the final team going on to compete at the ISF Junior Men\u2019s World Championship from July 11-20, 2014 in Whitehorse, YK.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am very pleased with the top thirty-two selections for the Junior Men\u2019s National Team program\u201d said Junior Men\u2019s National Team Head Coach Jim Jones. \u201cOur coaching staff and our contacts throughout Canada have worked very hard to make our camp in May as competitive as possible.\u201d<\/p>\n

Canada finished fourth at the previous ISF Junior Men\u2019s World Championship held in Parana, Argentina in 2012, with Argentina winning Gold, Japan taking Silver and Australia with Bronze. The event was held in Whitehorse in 2008, when Canada lost 2-1 in eight innings to Australia in the Gold medal game to win the Silver medal.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have had to make some very difficult decisions to get to this point and anticipate some even more difficult decisions to get to our top seventeen\u201d added Jones. \u201cIt is imperative that each player understands the caliber of the top six teams in the ISF World Championship and commits to compete for a spot on Team Canada. Those players that are training now and plan to continue to do so leading up to the camp in May will have the best chance of making Team Canada and help bring home a Gold medal.\u201d<\/p>\n

(Ottawa, ON) Softball Canada est heureux d\u2019annoncer la liste d\u2019athl\u00e8tes qui ont \u00e9t\u00e9 nomm\u00e9s \u00e0 la formation du camp de s\u00e9lection 2014 de l\u2019\u00e9quipe nationale junior masculine. Ces athl\u00e8tes participeront \u00e0 un camp de s\u00e9lection du 22 au 25 mai 2014 \u00e0 Brampton, ON, alors que l\u2019\u00e9quipe finale fera ensuite comp\u00e9tition au Championnat du monde junior masculin de la ISF du 11 au 20 juillet 2014 \u00e0 Whitehorse, YK.<\/p>\n

\u00ab Je suis tr\u00e8s content avec les trente-deux joueurs choisis pour le programme de l\u2019\u00e9quipe nationale junior masculine \u00bb a dit Jim Jones, entra\u00eeneur chef de l\u2019\u00e9quipe nationale junior masculine. \u00ab Notre personnel des entra\u00eeneurs et nos contacts \u00e0 travers le Canada ont travaill\u00e9 tr\u00e8s fort pour rendre notre camp au mois de mai aussi comp\u00e9titif que possible. \u00bb<\/p>\n

Le Canada a termin\u00e9 quatri\u00e8me au dernier Championnat du monde junior masculin de la ISF \u00e0 Paran\u00e1, en Argentine en 2012, o\u00f9 l\u2019Argentine a remport\u00e9 la m\u00e9daille d\u2019or, suivi du Japon avec celle d\u2019argent et l\u2019Australie avec bronze. L\u2019\u00e9v\u00e9nement a \u00e9t\u00e9 pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 \u00e0 Whitehorse en 2008, lorsque le Canada a perdu 2 \u00e0 1 en huit manches contre l\u2019Australie en grande finale pour remporter la m\u00e9daille d\u2019argent.<\/p>\n

\u00ab Nous avons \u00e9t\u00e9 oblig\u00e9s \u00e0 faire des d\u00e9cisions tr\u00e8s difficiles jusqu\u2019\u00e0 maintenant et nous anticipons des d\u00e9cisions encore plus difficiles \u00e0 faire pour retrancher l\u2019\u00e9quipe \u00e0 dix-sept \u00bb a ajout\u00e9 Jones. \u00ab Il est important que chaque joueur comprenne le calibre des six meilleurs \u00e9quipes au Championnat du monde de la ISF et qu\u2019ils s\u2019engagent \u00e0 faire comp\u00e9tition pour une place au sein de l\u2019\u00e9quipe canadienne. Les joueurs qui s\u2019entra\u00eenent pr\u00e9sentement et qui continuent de le faire jusqu\u2019au camp au mois de mai auront la meilleur chance de percer l\u2019\u00e9quipe du Canada et nous aider \u00e0 remporter une m\u00e9daille d\u2019or. \u00bb<\/p>\n
