{"id":26386,"date":"2015-05-19T22:39:53","date_gmt":"2015-05-20T05:39:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.fastpitchwest.com\/?p=26386"},"modified":"2015-05-19T22:39:53","modified_gmt":"2015-05-20T05:39:53","slug":"pay-n-paks-old-ballpark-opens-for-minor-league-baseball","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fastpitchwest.com\/?p=26386","title":{"rendered":"Pay &#8216;n Pak&#8217;s old ballpark opens for minor league baseball"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/whitecenterblog.com\/2015\/05\/18\/first-pitch-of-new-highline-bears-semi-pro-baseball-at-steve-cox-park-may-30\/\" target=\"_blank\">From the White Center Blog<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>First pitch of new Highline Bears Semi-Pro Baseball at Steve Cox Park May 30<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>On Saturday, May 30 at 7 p.m., the Highline Bears will bring Semi-Pro baseball back to the Highline Community for the first time in over 30 years, when they take on the Snoqualmie Hurricanes at Steve Cox Memorial Park in White Center.<\/p>\n<p>The Bears hope to pack the stadium with hundreds of families, spanning from White Center, West Seattle, Burien, Normandy Park, Des Moines and beyond.<\/p>\n<p>The Highline Bears are a new expansion team in the Pacific International League. The Pacific International League (PIL) was founded in 1992, the league is considered by many to be the premier Summer Collegiate Baseball league in the Northwest.<\/p>\n<p>In the 1950\u2019s, 60\u2019s and 70\u2019s White Center Stadium (now Steve Cox Memorial Park) was the home of men\u2019s semi-professional baseball and professional fast pitch softball teams.
