(Ottawa, ON) Softball Canada is pleased to announce the list of seventeen (17) athletes who will represent Canada as members of the Men\u2019s National Team at the WBSC Men\u2019s World Softball Championship from June 26 to July 5, 2015 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. The final roster was determined at the Men\u2019s National Team selection camp held this past weekend in Kitchener, Ontario.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are very happy to announce our roster for the upcoming WBSC Men\u2019s World Softball Championship\u201d stated John Stuart, Head Coach of the Canadian Men\u2019s National Softball Team.\u201cOur athletes are mentally and physically prepared to compete at the top international level and they showed just that at our selection camp this past weekend. We all look forward to the opportunity to represent our country on home soil in Saskatoon.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The coaching staff is scheduled to announce the fifteen (15) athletes named to the 2015 Pan American Games Men\u2019s Softball team through the Canadian Olympic Committee on June 11. That event will take place the week after the conclusion of WBSC Men\u2019s World Softball Championship \u2013 from July 12-18 \u2013 with the top six (6) teams from the Pan American region competing.<\/p>\n

At the previous WBSC Men\u2019s World Championship held in 2013 in Auckland, New Zealand, Team Canada locked up first place in its pool but lost its first two playoff games to finish fifth. The team last competed at the 2014 Pan American Softball Championship from October 24 to November 1 in Parana, Argentina, winning a bronze medal.<\/p>\n

(Ottawa, ON) Softball Canada est heureux d\u2019annoncer la liste de dix-sept (17) athl\u00e8tes qui repr\u00e9senteront le Canada comme membres de l\u2019\u00e9quipe nationale masculine au Championnat du monde de softball masculin de la WBSC du 26 juin au 5 juillet 2015 \u00e0 Saskatoon, au Saskatchewan. La formation finale a \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9termin\u00e9e au camp de s\u00e9lection de l\u2019\u00e9quipe nationale masculine qui a eu lieu la fin de semaine derni\u00e8re \u00e0 Kitchener, en Ontario.<\/p>\n

\u00ab Nous sommes tr\u00e8s heureux d\u2019annoncer notre formation pour le Championnat du monde de softball masculin de la WBSC \u00bb a dit John Stuart, entra\u00eeneur chef de l\u2019\u00e9quipe nationale de softball masculin. \u00ab Nos athl\u00e8tes sont pr\u00e9par\u00e9s mentalement et physiquement \u00e0 faire comp\u00e9tition au niveau international le plus \u00e9lev\u00e9 et ils l\u2019ont d\u00e9montr\u00e9 \u00e0 notre camp de s\u00e9lection la fin de semaine derni\u00e8re. Le personnel des entra\u00eeneurs annoncera les quinze (15) athl\u00e8tes nomm\u00e9s \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9quipe de softball masculin des Jeux panam\u00e9ricains de 2015 en conjonction avec le Comit\u00e9 olympique canadien le 11 juin. Cet \u00e9v\u00e9nement aura lieu la semaine apr\u00e8s la conclusion du Championnat du monde de softball masculin de la WBSC \u2013 du 12 au 18 juillet \u2013 alors que les six (6) meilleures \u00e9quipes de la r\u00e9gion panam\u00e9ricaine sera en comp\u00e9tition.<\/p>\n

Au dernier Championnat du monde masculin de la WBSC qui a eu lieu en 2013 \u00e0 Auckland, en Nouvelle-Z\u00e9lande, l\u2019\u00e9quipe canadienne s\u2019est m\u00e9rit\u00e9 le premier rang de sa division mais a perdu ses deux premi\u00e8res parties de la ronde \u00e9liminatoire pour terminer cinqui\u00e8me. La derni\u00e8re fois que l\u2019\u00e9quipe a fait comp\u00e9tition \u00e9tait au Championnat panam\u00e9ricain de softball masculin de 2014 du 24 octobre au 1 novembre \u00e0 Paran\u00e1, en Argentine, remportant la m\u00e9daille de bronze.<\/p>\n
