For decades men\u2019s fast-pitch softball was a staple of summer in mid-Michigan.<\/p>\n

From the 1950s through the 1990s some of the best teams in the state came from this area and then around the turn of the millennium it up and disappeared.<\/p>\n

Mt. Pleasant\u2019s Josh Wheaton wants to bring it back though, thus he\u2019s looking to see if there is any interest in starting up a new league starting in August.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re trying to start up a new men\u2019s fast-pitch softball,\u201d said Wheaton. \u201cIt used to be big here and it kind of fizzled away so we\u2019re trying to garner interest. All we need it for people to call me at 989-621-3449 and I\u2019ll take your name and number down. It\u2019s for anybody over the age of 18. I was going to do 35 and older but we need to get young people involved because everybody is going from high school to slo-pitch so we want to catch them now.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
