{"id":28842,"date":"2015-08-17T19:40:04","date_gmt":"2015-08-18T02:40:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.fastpitchwest.com\/?p=28842"},"modified":"2015-08-17T19:40:04","modified_gmt":"2015-08-18T02:40:04","slug":"jason-hills-homer-gives-newfoundland-quartet-championship-sweep","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fastpitchwest.com\/?p=28842","title":{"rendered":"Jason Hill\u2019s homer gives Newfoundland quartet championship sweep"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.thetelegram.com\/Sports\/2015-08-16\/article-4247806\/Hill%26rsquo%3Bs-homer-gives-Newfoundland-quartet-championship-sweep\/1\" target=\"_blank\">From The Telegram<\/a><br \/>\n<em>By Brendan McCarthy<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Quarter now are members of defending champions of five major fastpitch titles<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Jason Hill\u2019s three-run home run in the top of the sixth inning wound up being the decisive hit in the Hill United Chiefs\u2019 6-4 win over the Toronto Gators in the championship game of the International Softball Congress World Tournament Saturday in South Bend, Ind.<\/p>\n<p>The defending champion Chiefs, based out of Ohsweken, Ont., were undefeated on their way to a third straight ISC title.<\/p>\n<p>Brad Ezekiel of Harbour Main hit a solo home run and Freshwater\u2019s (Placentia) Stephen?Mullaley scored on the homer from Hill, a native of St.?John\u2019s.?The team also includes coach?John Hill of St.?John\u2019s.<\/p>\n<p>Ezekiel, Mullaley and the two Hills \u2014 father and son \u2014 were also part of Hill United\u2019s title win at the ASA?championship and were with Team Canada for its gold-medal wins at the world championships in Saskatoon and Pan American Games in Toronto.
