The East Hants Mastodons were a few outs away from a Canadian senior men\u2019s fast-pitch title on Sunday in Quebec.<\/p>\n

The Mastodons fell 4-3 to the defending-champion Galway Hitmen of Newfoundland and Labrador in the gold-medal game.<\/p>\n

Up 3-2 heading to the bottom of the sixth inning, East Hants allowed a sacrifice fly to Jason Hill and an RBI single to Colin Walsh for the deciding runs.<\/p>\n

Craig Manuel and Aaron Harvey homered for East Hants in the loss. Jay Duffy had three singles.<\/p>\n

Steve Mullaley, Jason Hill, and Brad Ezekiel, completed a golden summer with a Canadian Senior Men’s Championship as Newfoundland Hitmen win 4-3 over East Hants, NS Mastadons for the province’s 4th straight title. Mullaley, Hill & Ezekiel win WBSC, Pan Am, ASA, ISC and Canadian gold, a feat likely never to be duplicated. Sean Cleary got the win, giving him three golds this year.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Had the East Hants been able to hold onto the 6th inning lead, Jeff Ellsworth would have been the lone member of the “5 Gold” Club.<\/p>\n
