J & B Painting edges NY Gremlins with walk-off-walk in the bottom of the 7th<\/h2>\n

For 6 innings, pitchers Roman Godoy (NY Gremlins) and Devon McCullough (J & B Painting) traded goose eggs.<\/p>\n

But after McCullough added one more scoreless frame for J&B Painting in the top of the 7th, New York’s Godoy ran into trouble right out of the gate. \u00a0Leadoff batter Derrick Kennedy struck the big blow, a double into the left field corner. \u00a0 The next batter, Scott Nejah, pinch hitting for Marshal Kronk, topped a 14 footer that no one could get to to put runners at the corners. \u00a0(cap tip Blair Setford)<\/em> J&B’s Jesse Pallacious drew the obligatory intentional walk to load the bases, bringing pinch hitter Mark Aranda to the plate. \u00a0Three straight balls to Aranda put Godoy on cliff’s edge. \u00a0He managed to come back with a strike, making the count 3-1, but the next pitch was outside on lefthander Aranda and the game was over.<\/p>\n

Devon McCullough went the distance to pick up the win for J&B, tossing a 2 hitter, and striking out 6. \u00a0Godoy also went the distance, scattering 6 hits while striking out 5.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

J&B Painting’s win in today’s semi-final avenged an earlier 3-2 loss to the NY Gremlins in an earlier winner’s bracket semi-final.<\/p>\n

J&B Painting will move on to the championship game against the tournament’s lone unbeaten team, Hill United.<\/p>\n

Entering the tournament finale, both teams boast pitchers who have given up only 5 earned runs in the entire tournament – Adam Folkard of Hill United and Devon McCullough for J&B Painting.<\/p>\n

NY Gremlins Falls To JB Bombers On Walkoff<\/h2>\n

NY Gremlins<\/a>\u00a0fell to JB Bombers 1-0 on Saturday on the final play of the game. The game was tied at zero with JB Bombers batting in the bottom of the seventh when\u00a0Roman Godoy<\/a>\u00a0walked\u00a0Mark Aranda<\/a>\u00a0to drive in a run.<\/p>\n

The pitching was strong on both sides. JB Bombers pitchers struck out six, while\u00a0NY Gremlins<\/a>sat down five<\/p>\n

One bright spot for\u00a0NY Gremlins<\/a>\u00a0was a double by\u00a0Ladlisao Malarczuk<\/a>\u00a0in the first inning.<\/p>\n

Devon McCullough<\/a>\u00a0earned the win for JB Bombers. He threw seven innings, giving up zero runs, two hits, and striking out six.\u00a0Roman Godoy<\/a>\u00a0took the loss for\u00a0NY Gremlins<\/a>. He tossed six innings, giving up one run, six hits, and striking out five.<\/p>\n
