October 30, 2017<\/span>\u00a0\u2013 Mitchell, ON \u2013 ISC Canada East and the Mitchell Mets fastball club are pleased to announce that the 2018 ISC Canada East Qualifier Tournament will be held in Mitchell at Keterson Park on the event\u2019s traditional Father\u2019s Day weekend of\u00a0June 15-17, 2018<\/span>.<\/p>\n

\u201cWith the 2018 ISC World Tournament in Kitchener in August, we\u2019re expecting a large contingent of teams will be on hand looking to earn a spot,\u201d said ISC Canada East Regional Commissioner Kyle Smith.<\/p>\n

It will be a very busy weekend at Keterson Park with 24 teams or more expected to be on hand. Mitchell last hosted the ISC Canada East Qualifier in 2014, also when the World Tournament was in Kitchener, and there were 16 men\u2019s teams and 8 U21 teams that participated.<\/p>\n

As has been the case for the past several years, the event will include the ISC Canada East U23 (formerly U21) Championship. \u201cWith the Junior Men\u2019s age category returning to U23, we are going to reflect that in our event,\u201d said ISC Canada East Regional Commissioner Joe Todd.<\/p>\n

New this year will be the inaugural ISC Canada East Legends Championship for teams in the 50+ age bracket. \u201cThis division is quite popular at the ISC and we\u2019re happy we can provide the teams in our region an opportunity to play together in June, to go along with the events that they have in July and August,\u201d said ISC Canada East Regional Commissioner Blair Setford.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re excited to have teams of all age ranges playing in Mitchell,\u201d said AJ Moses, head of the Mets host committee. \u201cIt will be a great opportunity to see up and coming players, today\u2019s stars and Legends of the game all in one place.\u201d<\/p>\n

Each winning team will earn a paid berth to the 2018 ISC World Tournament in their division along with travel money. Additional berths and invites to the ISC World Tournament will be available to entered teams.<\/p>\n
