Reading that Hurricane Dorian is headed to the Bahamas, and thinking of our friends on Man-O-War Cay. The families of Haziel McDonald, Grant Albury, William Weatherby, Edney Bethel and company. Stay safe. Button down the hatches. Man-O-War is a small island located in the outer reaches of the Northern Bahamas. If you’re looking at the maps reporting on the progress of the hurricane, they are located just east of Great Abaco and Marsh Habour, the international airport. It is a beautiful, idyllic island about 2 miles long, with picture postcard beaches everywhere. Haziel’s teams competed in the AAU International Tournaments for a number of years, and in 2007, hosted a tournament on their island, with games played at water’s edge. (See photo below). By all reports, they are unfortunately in the direct path of the hurricane. Stay safe our friends. We are thinking of you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
