Previously there were junior and U-19 World Cups, of which 13 editions were celebrated. Kuei-Ping Yeh homered in the third inning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Asian team took an early lead in the game and never looked back. Three Colombian errors allowed Chinese Taipei to score six runs in the first inning, setting the table for the run-difference win.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"puerto-rico-v-mexico-2-0-boxscore\"><strong>Puerto Rico v M\u00e9xico &#8211; 2:0 &#8211;&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/u18wswc.wbsc.org\/en\/2021\/schedule-and-results\/box-score\/86303\" target=\"_blank\">Boxscore<\/a><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>World No. 5 Puerto Rico topped No. 4 Mexico in a very close game. The Puerto Rican squad took advantage of a pair of defensive miscues to score the only two runs of the match. Keira Bucher pitched a five-strikeout complete game shutout, giving up only three <\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><strong>Editor&#8217;s note:<\/strong>  This game was a rematch between the Silver Medalists (Mexico) and Bronze Medalists (Puerto Rico) from the Jr. Pan Ams a week ago in Columbia. This time, it was Puerto Rico prevailing.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"czech-republic-v-usa-10-0-boxscore\"><strong>Czech Republic v USA &#8211; 10:0 &#8211;&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/u18wswc.wbsc.org\/en\/2021\/schedule-and-results\/box-score\/86304\" target=\"_blank\">Boxscore<\/a><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>World No. 2 USA, the top ranked team in the tournament, beat the Czech Republic, 10-0. Right-handed pitcher&nbsp;Alissa Humphrey tossed a&nbsp;four-inning perfect game to guide USA&nbsp;to the Day 1 victory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Humphrey was untouchable in today\u2019s four-inning contest. The James Madison University sophomore used 47 pitches to retire all 12 batters she faced. She struck out seven Czech <\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"netherlands-v-peru-3-1-boxscore\"><strong>Netherlands v Peru<\/strong>&nbsp;&#8211;<strong>&nbsp;3:1<\/strong>&nbsp;&#8211;&nbsp;<strong><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/u18wswc.wbsc.org\/en\/2021\/schedule-and-results\/box-score\/86305\" target=\"_blank\">Boxscore<\/a><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Peru clinched a historic win in their tournament debut.
