JB staked their ace, Argentine ace Romon Godoy  to a 1-0 lead in the fourth inning on a solo home run by Cesar Rodriguez.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But that proved to be the only run that JB would score against the Gremlins&#8217; Australian pitching sensation, Jack Besgrove. Singles by Zenon Winters and Cole Evans and a fielders choice by Brian Avery tied the game at one in the bottom of the fourth. The big blow in the game came in the bottom of the fifth inning when the Gremlins&#8217; Ben Enoka hit a towering two run homer to left field following a single by Jerome Raemaki. New York added an insurance run in the sixth inning, when Ladislao Malarczuk singled and eventually scored on a wild pitch. Jack Besgrove with the distance, tossing a four hitter, while striking out 16 and walking none.   When the gremlins turned in on Friday night they did so knowing that they would need three straight wins on Championship Saturday to capture the ISC world title.  Their opponents, if they could continued to win, would include the #3 ranked Hill United Chiefs, the #2 ranked Niagara Stompers, and the #4 ranked Bear Creek Express, which had won the winners bracket final on Friday night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Championship Saturday, August 19<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Game 68 &#8211; NY Gremlins 14, Hill United Chiefs 2 <\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ben Enoka Drives in Eight as Gremlins Defeats Hill United Chiefs<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/gc.com\/p64c945aff9292518b22136f1\">Ben Enoka<\/a>&nbsp;would not be denied at the plate when runners were on base on Saturday, driving in eight on three hits to lead&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/gc.com\/t64b83bc2c61e89a89be5c876\">Gremlins<\/a>&nbsp;past&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/gc.com\/t64b83bc3c61e89a89be5c879\">Hill United Chiefs<\/a>&nbsp;14-2 on Saturday.&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/gc.com\/p64c945aff9292518b22136f1\">Enoka<\/a>&nbsp;drove in runs on a single in the first, a 3-run home run in the second, and a grand slam in the fourth. All rights reserved.&#8221; Any reuse or republication of this story must include the preceding attribution.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Game 69 &#8211; NY Gremlins 8, Niagara Stompers 5 <\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ochoa Helps New York Gremlins Slug Their Way to Victory against the Niagara Stompers<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Eric Ochoa<\/strong> hit two home runs and drove in three as the New York Gremlins defeated the Niagara Stompers 8 to 5 on Saturday. <strong>Ochoa<\/strong> homered in the fourth and fifth innings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The New York Gremlins got on the board in the first inning after <strong>Mathieu Roy<\/strong> drew a walk, scoring on a wild pitch.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>A home run by centerfield by<strong> Blaine Milheim <\/strong>gave the Niagara Stompers the lead, 2-1 in the bottom of the first.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Niagara Stompers added another run in the second inning after Teo Migliavacca singled home Pita Rona, for a 3-1 Stompers lead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The New York Gremlins took the lead 5-3 in the top of the fourth thanks to home runs by Eric Ochoa Cole Evans and Ladislao Malarczuk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Gremlins scored two more runs in the top of the fifth inning on a home run to left field by Eric Ochoa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Wayne Lalu hit a solo home run to centerfield in the top of the sixth for the Gremlins while Marshall Kronk hit a solo homer to centerfield in the bottom of the sixth inning for the Stompers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Niagara Stompers scored one run in the bottom of the seventh inning on a solo home run to centerfield by Blaine Milheim, his second of the game.&nbsp; .<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Andrew Kirkpatrick earned the win for the New York Gremlins. The left-hander allowed eight hits and five runs over seven innings, striking out six and walking none.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hueml Mata started in the circle for the Niagara Stompers but pitched just 2 2\/3 innings, striking out three and walking three.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The New York Gremlins showed great patience at the plate, thus collecting seven walks for the game. (The home run marked the second in consecutive at bats by <strong>Pomeroy<\/strong> off of Besgrove, as he had homered on Thursday night in the winners bracket semifinal to break a 3-3 tie in the 7<sup>th<\/sup> inning of that game)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Cole Evans<\/strong> homered to left field for the New York Gremlins to tie the game at one in the top of the fourth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The turning point in the game came in the top of the fifth inning, when <strong>Bear Creek Express<\/strong> replaced starter <strong>Sean Cleary<\/strong> with reliever <strong>Justin Schofield.<\/strong> &nbsp;It was not to be the night for <strong>Schofield<\/strong>, as he struggled with control, walking four batters in the fifth inning, (three in a a row), leading to a four-run outburst for the Gremlins in which they took a 5-1 lead which they never surrendered.&nbsp;  The fateful fifth started on a double by New York&#8217;s <strong>Ladisloa Malarczuk<\/strong>, followed by three consecutive walks to <strong>Nick Mullins, Mathieu Roy, and Jerome Raemaki <\/strong>followed by a single by <strong>Ben Enoka<\/strong>.  Another walk was issued to <strong>Zenon Winters<\/strong>.  Two passed balls produced two more Gremlins runs and a 5-1 margin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jerome Raemaki, who walked his first three trips to the plate, put an exclamation mark on the win for New York with a towering the solo home run to right field in the top of the seventh for the Gremlins for the 6-1 final score.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Justin Schofield took the loss for the Bear Creek express, tossing three innings, allowing five runs on three hits, striking out five and walking for work. Starter Sean clearing gave up two hits and one run over four innings, striking out five and walking two.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>CE, BP, JR, LM, and EO each had hits for the New York Gremlins. JR paced the Gremlins with three walks.
