Australian catcher Oliver Stewart for 3 for 4, while Aussie shortstop Ky Hurst was 2 for 4.  Australia led 2-1 into the 4th inning, when USA scored two to take the lead, 3-2.  USA added an insurance run &#8212; one they would eventualy need, in the 6th for a 4-2 lead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Braden DuCharme<\/strong> drove in one of the two runs in the 4th, and came through again in the 6th, driving in the insurance run.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On last call for Australia, third baseman Jye Robinson hit a solo homer to cut the lead to 4-3.  Ky Hurst reached first on a bang-bang infield single, but USA hurler closed out the win with a strikeout and tapper back to the pitcher for the final out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>USA pitcher Cody Gibbons<\/strong>, who has thrown the vast majority of the USA game was stellar, scattering 9 hits over the 7 inning and holding Australia to three earned runs.  Key to his win &#8211; 8 strikeouts and no walks.   <strong>Australia&#8217;s Corie List<\/strong> went the distance as well, as striking out 8, though walking 6.
