Earlier in the week, we posted a story about the New York Gremlins winning their fourth consecutive USA Softball Men’s Major National Championship<\/a>. As part of that story, we mentioned that the Gremlins’ Erick Ochoa was named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player, and picked up three additional awards, for First Team All American, Batting champion and Home Run Champion.<\/p>\n\n\n

Just how good a tournament did Erick Ochoa have? This good:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

11 for 13, with 6 home runs, 11 RBI, and 8 runs scored. Three of the home runs were in the championship game — after having to leave the prior game after being hit by a Marco Diaz pitch. He got out a total of twice. A ground out — that drove in a run and a fly out. No strikeouts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
