Brad was unable to participate due to his new gig as an assistant coach at University of Washington for their women&#8217;s team.  Fortunately, he will be joining the Men&#8217;s National team at the World Cup Finals this July in Prince Albert, Canada.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fastball fans will remember that Kilpatrick played a key role in getting the 2022 USA Men&#8217;s Team back on the medal stand, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fastpitchwest.com\/?p=41360\">when the USA Men\u2019s National Team Snapped a\u00a022-year medal drought with bronze medal finish at 2022 WBSC Men\u2019s Softball World Cup<\/a>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>AUCKLAND, New Zealand&nbsp;\u2013 In what snapped a 22-year medal drought for the&nbsp;<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/usasoftball.us17.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=3cb6efc2039accb2bb3032261&amp;id=f086028c02&amp;e=fd6981cb04\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">U.S. Men\u2019s National Team (MNT)<\/a>, the 2022 World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) Men\u2019s Softball World Cup ended in victory for the Eagles after a 2-0 win over world-ranked No. 1 Argentina clinched the bronze medal for Team USA. The win earned the Red, White and Blue its 10th overall WBSC Men\u2019s Softball World Cup medal \u2013 fourth in the bronze category \u2013 with the last U.S. podium finish happening at the 2000 Men\u2019s Softball World Cup in East London, Africa.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After falling to Argentina earlier in the tournament, the U.S. claimed redemption over the defending World Champions behind a complete game shutout&nbsp;from&nbsp;<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/usasoftball.us17.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=3cb6efc2039accb2bb3032261&amp;id=eeb7b8f5d1&amp;e=fd6981cb04\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Brad Kilpatrick<\/a>. The lefty thrower totaled 13 strikeouts in the win, a tone that was set after escaping a bases loaded jam with three-straight K\u2019s in the bottom of the first inning. Kilpatrick and the U.S. defense limited the Argentina offense to six hits in the win while forcing seven stranded runs to keep Argentina scoreless for the first time in the tournament.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>From the USA Softball MNT Read the full press release from USA Softball here.
