The Long Beach Black Sox ended their 7 year stint as one of the most successful teams in California winning 32 tournaments. They played their last game on a cold Saturday night at El Dorado Park losing to Gerald Pyle and J&B 9-5. Corey Avery got the save and also was 2-3 with a long 3 run home run and a RBI single in the win. Pyle went 4 innings for the win for J&B. Randy Clay suffered the loss for Long Beach. Martin Borgen hit a 2 run home run for Long Beach to highlight their scoring. Doug Shaw was 2-3 with a run and he also reached on an error.<\/p>\n

The Sox will now take at least a year off as Fred Hanker takes a break from running the team. The website will continue to be updated with player news and updates.
